Charles F. Gravener Jr., 87, of Colby, died Wednesday, October 31, 2012, at Citizens Medical Center, Colby. He was born Jan 22, 1925 to Charles and Zoe Elsie (Dewey) Gravener in Hoxie, KS. He married Madeleine Jacobs on Oct 30, 1943. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in WW II. He worked as a switching technician and then retired from AT&T. He loved many things including gardening, traveling, hunting, fishing and wood working.
He is survived by his wife Madeleine Gravener; two daughters, LeeAnn Candelaria and Marleen Gravener; a sister, Elsie Marie Snyder; a grandson Jasen Candelaria; a sister in-law, Jessie Owens-Enefield; a brother in-law, John Jacobs; two nieces, Marsha Meyers and Teresa Craen and a nephew, Kevin Snyder.
Visitation will be from 4 – 6 p.m. on Friday, November 2, 2012 at Baalmann Mortuary, Colby. Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Beulah Cemetery, Colby with Military Honors.
