Charles E. Cook, 90, of Colby, died Monday, December 9, 2013. He was born May 19, 1923 in Washington, KS to Edward and Bell (Carl) Cook. He served in the United States Army Air Corps and was a decorated WWII veteran. He married Dorothy Tubbs and they had three sons. He was a long time farmer, but had also owned Mr. C’s Steak House and Cook Trucking and was a custom harvester. He was a member of the Grinnell V.F.W.
He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy; son, Charles David Cook; grandson, Charles Cook; sister, Margaret; and brothers, Clarence and Harry Cook.
He is survived by his children Terry (Lilly) Cook, Nanakuli, HI and Tom Cook, Colby, KS; companion Bev Appelhans; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 4-6:00 p.m. Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Baalmann Mortuary, Colby. Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2013 at the United Methodist Church, Colby with burial to follow at Beulah Cemetery.
