Charles Marl “Mike” Bloom, 58, of Oakley, died Thursday, June 28, 2018, at Hays Medical Center. He was born July 6, 1959, in Oakley, to John Byron (Buddy) and Beula Faye (Sidles) Bloom. Mike graduated from Grinnell High School in 1977. In his younger years he worked at many of the North West Kansas sale barns. He was a lifelong farmer and rancher and had also co-owned the Watering Hole bar. On May 3, 1986, he married Susan Ohmart, in Oakley. As a licensed electrician, Mike was kept busy repairing all kinds of things. Mike enjoyed fishing, gardening, bowling, trap shooting, and golfing. He was a member of the American Bowling Association.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Susan; sons, Charlie, Roderick and John Bloom and sister Jill (Gary) Prewo.
Visitation is 5-7:00 p.m. Monday, July 2, 2018, at Baalmann Mortuary, Oakley. The funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at the Gateway Fellowship Church, Oakley with burial in the Oakley City Cemetery.
