Catherine “Kay” A. Wessel, 60, of Oakley, died Saturday, July 30, 2011 at her home. Kay was born Aug. 27, 1950 to Frank and Gertrude (Dickman) Glassman in Colby, KS. Kay married David Wessel on Aug. 23, 1969. She was a home maker and worked for Wal-Mart, Colby for over 17 years. She enjoyed many things in life; one of her loves was cooking whether it was for the local fair or the corn cook off in Oakley. She loved sending cards to family and friends. Kay was a member of the St. Joseph Alter Society, Oakley.
She is preceded in death by her Parents.
She is survived by her husband David Wessel, Oakley; Two sons, Lance Wessel and wife Amanda, Lawrence and Mark Wessel and wife Jessica, Oakley; a sister Janet Geist and husband Don, Wakeeney; an uncle Tony Glassman, Denver, CO.
A visitation will be Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011 at Baalmann Mortuary, Oakley from 4 – 8:30 p.m. Vigil service will start at 7:30 p.m. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 5 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Oakley.
