Caroline Josephine (Prokop) Tubbs, 82, of Levant, Ks died February 26, 2017 in Colby.
She was born in Atwood, Ks. to Cyprian and Antoinette (Horinek) Prokop on January 11, 1935. She was the 4th of 11 children. She lived on a farm east of Atwood until her parents moved to the family farm northeast of Colby. While growing up on the family farm, she worked hard shucking corn and driving the tractor. She also worked at Lois Drug Store.
On January 9, 1955 she married Robert Tubbs. To this union were born 5 children. After her marriage to Robert, she cleaned houses and was a great wheat truck driver during harvest. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved everyone and no one was a stranger. The coffee was always on and food ready for whoever stopped by.
Preceding her in death was her daughter Peggy Phillips and granddaughter Sara Phillips, her parents, one brother, Joe Prokop, and four sisters, Thressia Morris, Pauline Gilbert, Adaline Delzeit and Clara Prokop, her father-in-law, Harold Tubbs and mother-in law, Elma Tubbs.
Survivors include her husband Robert, one daughter, Kathy (Rick) Homan and three sons, Allen Tubbs, Dennis (Robin) Tubbs and Justin (Angela) Tubbs, brother Lionel Prokop and her sisters Mary Ann Cousins, Marcellia (Stickel) Stenger, Barbara Highland and Janet Christiansen.
Visitation is 5-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Baalmann Mortuary, Colby. Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 2, 2017 also at the mortuary with burial to follow in Beulah Cemetry.
