Bruce Durant

Bruce W. Durant, 39, of Oakley, died Wednesday, February 23, 2011. He was born July 7, 1971 in Oakley, KS to Bob and Julia (Heyen) Durant. He married Melissa McMillan on May 1, 1993. Bruce worked in construction.

He is preceded in death by his mother Julia; grandparents Kenneth Durant and Elmer and Jean Heyen; two uncles Freddy and Martin Heyen .

He is survived by his wife Melissa; two sons Austin and Josh; a daughter Valerie Groover; father Bob and wife Earla; a sister Sherry Zerr; a step sister Frances Kline; a step brother Joseph Gassman; a brother in-law Shane McMillan; a nephew Brandon Zerr; three nieces Kayla and Shelby Zerr and Justice McMillan; six step nieces and nephews and many aunts and uncles.

Cremation was chosen. A memorial service will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at Baalmann Mortuary. Memorials are suggested to Bruce W. Durant Memorial Fund in care of Baalmann Mortuary P.O. Box 204, Oakley, KS 67748.
