Brenda Beckman

Brenda Beckman, 55, of Oakley, died Sunday, July 12, 2015. She was born on March 8, 1960, in Quinter, KS, to Kenneth and Ida (Hickert) Hoover. She was a 1978 graduate of Grinnell High School and attended college at Wichita State University. On August 5, 1983, she married Paul Beckman, whom she fell in love with at the age of thirteen. Brenda enjoyed gardening, cross stitch, reading, bingo and Dr. Pepper. She liked anything with chickens on it and had quite a collection. Spending time outdoors, going to the lake and camping were some of her favorite pastimes. Brenda also loved going to all of her grandkids activities.

She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth; brothers, Barney and Charles; and sister, Cindy Kohmetscher.

She is survived by her husband Paul; children, Josh (Camille), Ellsworth, KS, Jared (Holly), Grinnell, KS and Tess (Cameron) McAllister, Benton, KS; grandchildren, Lakyn and Brantley Beckman, Brody and Sawyer Beckman and Cooper and Shay McAllister; her mother, Ida Hoover; and sisters, Christine (Lenny) Dinkel and Barbara (Mike) Garlisi.

Visitation is from 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Angelus with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday, July 16, 2015 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church.
