Billy Morrow Warren, 89, of Oakley, died Sunday, May 18, 2014. He was bon October 28, 1924 in Latham, Missouri, the eldest son of Eric and Florence (Morrow) Warren. Bill grew up near Russell Springs, KS and went to school there, graduating from Russell Springs High School in 1943. He enlisted in the army air corps in WWII and was shipped to England where he supplied fuel for the B-17 bombers. After the war he returned to Oakley and married Kathleen (Kay) Carver on September 4, 1949 in Goodland, KS. They had two sons, Paul and Rod. Bill worked in the post office in Oakley and served as Post Master for many years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was known for his wry sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kay and his parents.
He is survived by his sons, Paul (Phoebe) of Billings, MT and Rod of Bozeman, MT; sister, Joy Rogge of Russell Springs; grandchildren, Andrew, Nathalie and Meghean (Paul Warner) and great granddaughter Grace Warner.
