Beverly Elaine Petersen, age 96, of Ames, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2020 at Accura Healthcare of Ames. Beverly was the youngest of four daughters born to Glenn Hiriam Partlow and Lillian Katherine Zelinsky Partlow on August 16, 1923 in Esterville, Iowa.

Beverly graduated from Valley Center High School in Des Moines, Iowa and married Vincent Lee Hedrick. Three children were born to this union, Michael J., Sharon Lee, and Deborah Fern. On April 19, 1954, she married M.E. “Pete” Petersen. To this union two sons were born, Edward Scott and Glen Curtis. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2004. Pete passed away in 2007.

Beverly enjoyed knitting, crocheting, crafting, and her dogs. Most of all she enjoyed the many years they were full-time RV’ers and the thousands of miles they traveled and the many memories they made.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Lillian Partlow; her husband, “Pete”; daughter, Deborah Smith Wagner; grandsons: Rodney James Andrews and Alan Hedrick; and sisters: Evelyn Coughennower and Leona Howard Swette.

She is survived by a sister, Erma Luchsinger Rogalla; son, Michael Hedrick (Beth), daughter, Sharon L. Woofter (Leon), sons E. Scott Petersen (Kalen) and G. Curtis Petersen (Blynda), son-in-law Patrick Wagner; grandchildren: Lance Hedrick, Wendy Hedrick Moulthrop, Darren Andrews (Janel), Duskin Andrews (Brytta), Damon Andrews (Jessica), Jerremie Smith, Ryan Smith (Tonya), Shelby Petersen, Kasey Petersen Horn, and Kayla Petersen Meyer; 20 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 5:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at the Adams Funeral Home, 502 Douglas Ave., Ames, Iowa, where there will be a Prayer Service held at 6:30 P.M. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at the Beulah Cemetery in Colby, Kansas.
