Bernard F. Baker, 83, of Colby, died Sunday, December 20, 2015. He was born June 7, 1932 to Anton and Caecilia (Baier) Baker in Wichita County. He married Theresa Birzer of Sept 19 1957 at St Peter and Paul Catholic Church North Ellinwood. He was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed traveling. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Louis; six sisters, Bernadine Pahls, Marguerite Zellner, Florence Zellner, Elizabeth Geyer, Mary Ann Winter and Celine Wimmer.
He is survived by his wife Theresa of the home; five children, Ronald Baker, of Winona, Kevin (Christine) Baker, of Grand Island, NE, Stacey (SaMyra) Baker, of Bonner Springs, Denise (Scott) Gambill, of Lenexa and Eric (Roxanne) Baker, of Colby; a brother, Joe (Virginia) Baker, of Haddem; two sisters, Millie (Gerald) Smith, of Marienthal and Nellie (Clyde) Scheffe, of Marienthal; nine grandchildren, Mitchell Baker, Kyra Baker, Tyler Baker, Lexi Gambill, Lakin Gambill, Sabina Gambill, Garrett Baker, Simma Baker and Jennifer Baker.
Visitation will be 3-8:00pm, Tuesday, Dec 22, 2015 at Baalmann Mortuary, Colby with Vigil service at 7:00pm. Funeral Mass will be 10:30am, Wednesday Dec 23, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Colby. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
