Berna Lee (Finan) Leibbrandt, 88, of Atwood, KS died Monday, February 7th, 2022, at Prairie Senior Living Center, Colby, KS.
Berna Lee was born November 14th, 1933, in Blaine, KS, the daughter of Patrick Francis and Bridget (Minihan) Finan.
She graduated from Blaine Rural High School in 1951. Later in 1954, she graduated from Marymount College, Salina, KS with a Registered Nurse (RN) degree.
On August 6th, 1955, Berna married Charles Wesley Leibbrandt at St. Columbkille’s church in Blaine, KS. He preceded her in death on January 21st, 2004.
Berna loved being a mother and wife. She raised her children with love and devotion. As a dedicated mother and homemaker her children and grandchildren were her first priority in life. She enjoyed taking care of her home, cooking meals for her family, and baking. Berna’s professional career as a registered nurse allowed her to serve the communities of Atwood and Colby, KS and make many friends along the way.
She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her brothers, Michael Finan and Thomas Finan.
Berna Lee is survived by her children, Charles Douglas Leibbrandt (Lorri) of Prairie Village, KS; Bregette Lee Ginther (Dale Myers) of Colorado Springs, CO; Gina Marie Chvatal of Atwood, KS; Deborah Kay Leibbrandt of El Dorado Springs, MO; Kimberly Ann Zollinger of Las Vegas, NV; and John Gregory Leibbrandt (Karen) of Atwood, KS. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Matthew and Jeffrey Leibbrandt; Blake, Drew and Bart Ginther; Hillary and Olivia Chvatal; and Tyler Britt and Hunter Leibbrandt; six great-grandchildren, Elise, Tatum, Anniston, Stetson, Colton, and Bridger; sister-in-law, Dorothy Finan of Blaine, KS; and a host of friends and relatives.
Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Sunday, February 13th, 2022, at Baalmann Mortuary, Atwood, KS with a vigil and rosary beginning at 7:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM, February 14th, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Atwood, KS with burial at the Mount Calvary Cemetery.
