Barbara (Barb) Ann Glover. 62, Oakley, died on September 10, 2017 at her home.
Barb was born on January 24, 1955 in Oeneta, AL, to Lela (Churchill) and Ernest O. Glover.
She was raised in Great Bend and attended school. Barb graduated from Great Bend High School and in 1973 she graduated from Fort Hays University with a degree in Journalism.
Barb was editor of the Leoti Standard and in 1988 moved to Oakley and became the editor of The Oakley Graphic for 29 years.
She was a member of the Oakley United Methodist Church, a past member of the Oakley Ambassadors; and served on the Oakley Library Board for many years and also served as president of the board.
Barb enjoyed watching Plainsmen sports and was an avid fan of the Plainsmen.
Survivors include her sister, Debra and husband David Rains of Great Bend; 3 nephews and their wives, Nicholas (Judy) Rains of Freemont, CA, T.J. (Aisha) Rains of Lake St. Louis, MO, and Will (Lindsay) Rains of Great Bend; and 7 great-nephews and nieces: Jonas, Ema, Alison, Dylan, Sierra, Jordyn, and Kylee Rains.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
Cremation was chosen and a Celebration of Life Service will be held on September 25, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Oakley United Methodist Church with Pastor Sheryl Johnson officiating. Memorials are suggested for the Oakley Library and the United Methodist Church in Oakley and may be sent in care of Baalmann Mortuary and Crematory, PO Box 204, Oakley, KS 67748.
