August Durham

September 18, 1930 — April 7, 2024

August (Augie) Durham was born on September 18, 1930, to Charles and Rosa (Miller) Durham. He was one of seven siblings. As a young man, Augie joined the Navy and served during the Korean War. After returning stateside, he was united in marriage with the love of his life, Shirley (Hamm). Augie and Shirley spent 63 years together and had two daughters: Linda and Judy. Augie enjoyed hunting, fishing, tinkering on all things mechanical, and spending time with his family. Augie left this earth on April 7, 2024, leaving us all with holes in our hearts.

Augie was preceded in death by his parents; five of his siblings: Clara Jane, Norma Jean, Charles Jr, Elta Mae, and Rosalie; his daughters: Linda and Judy; his granddaughter, Natasha; and beloved dog, Maggie.

He is survived by his wife Shirley, sister Ellie, son-in-law Floyd, grandchildren: Shannon, Holly (partner Nick), Zach (partner Ashley), and Dakota. He also had many great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. He will always be loved and missed by all who knew him.

A graveside service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 12, 2024, at Beulah Cemetery, Colby. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to donate to the VFW, American Legion or any charity whose efforts benefit our veterans.
