Audrey L. Gannon, 98, of Atwood, died Sunday, November 30, 2014. She was born in Atwood, KS, on October 25, 1916, the oldest daughter of Henry and Vivian Rummel.
She married Ivan V. Pennington July 30, 1933, to this union 5 children were born, 3 daughters and 2 sons, Patsy, Dolores, Richard, Nyla and Clifford.
Ivan and Audrey owned and operated the White Eagle Mobil station and Lakeside Grocery. Audrey later worked at Manning Grocery and Bobs Café. She owned and operated the Tastee Treet for over 30 years. She loved playing the piano, organ and accordion. She was the creator of Little Audrey’s Hickory Sauce. Audrey worked hard in all her endeavors. She dearly loved children and was a much loved lady.
Audrey was a wonderful dancer and danced whenever the opportunity arose.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Husbands Ivan V. Pennington and James Gannon; brothers, August, Arlie, Stanley, Percy, Victor, Cecil, Jesse and Wesley Rummel; sisters, Inez Johnson, Evelyn Claar and Helen Ziegelmeier.
She is survived by her children, Patsy (Richard) Most, Imperial, NE, Dolores (Bernard) Harwerth, Overland Park, KS, Richard (Jackie) Pennington, Gardner, KS Nyla (Ted) Domsch, Colby, KS and Clifford Pennington, Colby, KS; a sister, Eunice (Bernard) Linderer, Denver, CO; 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all.
