Ashton Kough

Ashton Maria Kough went to be with her Lord on Thursday, April 23, 2020, at the family home. Ashton was born February 5, 1979, in Colby, KS. Her parents, Roger and Connie (Kirk) Kough, and her brother, Chase, welcomed her into their home and life in May 1984 at the age of five.

Ashton was known for her magnificent smile, quiet and caring personality, compassionate heart, contagious giggle, hugs and beautiful dark brown curly hair. Her love for her family and friends; her love and commitment to her Lord Jesus Christ was her strength. She received Chase’s wife, Abi, as her new sister and their sons, Thunder and Legend, into her heart and treasured times with them.

Ashton was a 1998 graduate of Colby High School. With a passion for sharing Jesus, she graduated in Evangelist Ministry from Rhema Bible College in Broken Arrow, OK. Ashton also graduated from Teen Mania Ministries and Youth with a Mission Ministries near Tyler, TX. Living out her faith, she did missionary work in Mexico, India, Africa, Columbia and the U.S. eastern coast. She loved reading the Bible, worshiping and praying. Her enjoyment was being outdoors, running, biking and walking with her dog. Ashton liked watching movies, spending time with family and friends, appreciated the beauty of butterflies and the viewing of Christmas decorations and lights.

Ashton worked as a personal caregiver and a CNA in the Colby and Oakley nursing home facilities.

Ashton was preceded in death by her grandparents, Kenneth Kirk and Helen and Blair Kough; her aunt and uncle, Jeri Dee and Steven Hughbanks.

She is survived by her parents and family, Roger and Connie Kough, of Colby; Chase and Abi Kough, nephews, Thunder and Legend Kough, Astatula, FL; grandmother Maxine Kirk; uncles and aunts, Mike and Sheryl Kough, Ron and Sonja Kough, Terry and Lanis Kirk and their families.
