Ardella (Ringwalt) Frantz, 86, formerly of Oakley, died April 20, 2013. She was born December 31, 1926 to Dr. and Mrs. L.B. Ringwalt at their home in Oakley. Ardella graduated from the Oakley schools and the University of Kansas with continuing graduate studies at Emporia State, Marymount College and Western State University. She was a member of Mu Phi Epsilon music fraternity, KU Alumni Association and the American Guild of Organist. She taught music and public and parochial schools and also taught private organ and piano lessons. She was not only a teacher, but a mentor and dear friend to her students and kept in touch with many of them throughout her life. She never lost her joy for the beauty of the world, whether it be the frost covered landscape or the return of the birds in the spring. She particularly liked flower gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ruth, Isabelle and Nina; brother David and nephews Lee and Leonard.
She is survived by her son Eric J. Franz; nieces, Mary Wilson, Gina (Fred) Dove, Maureen (Steve) Metheny; nephews, Louis (Margaret) Wilson, Mark Wilson.
