Amber Marie Sponsel, 38, of Colby, KS and Seward, AK, died Wednesday September 7th, 2022, at The Medical Center of Aurora, in Aurora, CO. She was born April 5, 1984, in Goodland, KS, to Thomas and Mary Jane Sponsel. She graduated from Goodland High School in 2002 and the Colorado School of Healing Arts, for Massage Therapy in 2005. Amber went on to receive her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Alaska, Anchorage, in 2020. She worked as a Registered Nurse Resident in the Cardiovascular Step-Down Unit at Alaska Regional Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her Grandparents, Xavier and Lela Stegeman and Christopher and Myrtle Sponsel; father Thomas L Sponsel, and brother-in-law Henry L. Elling
She is survived by her mother Mary Jane Sponsel, of Edson; brothers, Todd (Wanda) Sponsel, of McPherson, KS and Bradley (Lisa) Sponsel, of Austin, TX; sisters, Natalie Konstadinidis, of Woodstock, GA, Teresa Jorns, of Vail, CO and Sonia (Darin) Snyder, of Colby, KS, along with numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews, all of who loved her beyond measure.
Amber was a kind and generous soul, with an amazing heart. She could bring a smile to anyone's face, or brighten their day, with her wit, and beautiful smile. She was a free spirit that loved the outdoors, traveling, exploring, her family, friends, and her dog Charlie Brown. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known and loved her.
Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 16th, 2022, at Baalmann Mortuary, Colby. Burial will be at the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Colby.
