Alice Louise Nelson, 86, of Oakley, died Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Logan County Hospital. She was born March 11, 1927 to Simon and Myrtle (Dishong) Dawson in Oakley, KS. She married Claude Nelson on March 3, 1967, in Oakley. She worked for Southwestern Bell as a telephone operator for 35 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Simon and Myrtle Dawson; husband, Claude Nelson; four brothers, Gilbert, Darrold, Raymond and Archie Dawson; a sister Cora Vavricka; a step daughter, Carol Goswick.
She is survived by a son, David (Sherri) Nelson, of Oakley; two daughters, Debby (Glen) Fieser, of Norwich and Donna (Joe) Nelson-Atkins, of Liberal; a step son, Ronald (Debra) Nelson, of Dayton, GA; a sister, Mae Cousins, of Oakley; six grandchildren, Tammy and Debbie Nelson, of Oakley, Mike Nelson, of Fairview, TX, Bryce Childers, of Ponca City, OK, Jason Plummer, of Liberal and Tylor Plummer, of Ulysses; two great grandchildren and six step grandchildren.
Visitation will be 3 – 7pm on Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Baalmann Mortuary, Oakley. Funeral service will be 10:30am on Monday, May 6, 2013 at Baalmann Mortuary.
