Albert Lloyd Jenik, 82, of Atwood, died Friday, June 9, 2023. He was born March 27, 1941, in Colby, KS, to Frank and Phyllis (Oelke) Jenik. Lloyd graduated from Oakley High School and attended Colby Community College. He worked at the Kansas State Highway Department in Oakley, at S&S Body Shop in Oakley, Dale’s Body Shop in Colby and Vans Body and Frame in Colby. Eventually Lloyd started Jenik Auto Body in Atwood, retiring in 2012.
Lloyd was an avid hunter and fisherman all his life. The only day of the year he got up early, without grumbling, was the first day of pheasant season. He was a member of the Atwood Rotary Club, Atwood Investment Club and the Rawlins County Sportsman’s Association.
Lloyd married Delma Boss on January 25, 1969. They were married for 54 years, some of them being happy years, as Lloyd liked to joke.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Phyllis Jenik; sister Nancy Jenik and his beloved pets.
Lloyd is survived by his wife Delma Jenik; brother Dwayne Jenik; nieces, nephews and their families, Sheila (Bryan) Crouch, James (Misty) Jenik, Sheryl (Kenneth) Carter, Jeff (Kathy) Colvin, Sherri Roberts, Tim Schnelle, Mike Schnelle and Gloria Fischer, along with many other relatives and friends.
