Agnes Tholen

Agnes A. Tholen, 77, of Grinnell, died Saturday, March 26, 2011. Agnes was born October 27, 1933 to Nicholas and Elizabeth (Stecklein) Schumacher. She married Lawrence Tholen on October 27, 1953. Agnes was a member of the Immaculate Conception Parish (Grinnell), Grinnell Altar Society, V.F.W. Post 2864 Ladies Auxiliary. She was a past 9th District President of the Ladies Auxiliary.

She is preceded in death by her parents, a son Rick Tholen, five sisters and seven brothers.

She is survived by her husband Lawrence; four children, Greg and wife Stacy (Grinnell), Rhonda Rudell, (Emporia), Tina and husband Ed Parks (Johnson) and Steve (Grinnell); a brother Jim and wife Geneva Schumacher (Russell); a sister Marge Depperschmidt (Hill City); and nine grandchildren, Mindy, Tyler, Trevor, Tinley, Tanner, Jenna, Trisha, Kelly and Tenille; and six great grandchildren.

A visitation will be Tuesday, March 29, 2011 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Parish Center, Grinnell, with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Immaculate Conception Church, Grinnell. Memorials are suggested to the Gove County Public Transportation and the Ladies Auxiliary, V.F.W Post 2864 in care of Baalmann Mortuary, P.O. Box 204, Oakley, KS 67748.
